Recent Charity Shop Finds

Something I have fallen in love with this year is charity shopping. I am by no means a new visitor to charity shops, but I am a new willing visitor. Before I would tag along with my mum and sister and scan the books with disinterest while they dug through the knitting and sewing patterns to find the vintage gems. I used to play spot The Da Vinci Code while waiting for them because I am certain there is a copy in every single charity shop.

But then I found my first charity shop gem and I soon grew to share their enthusiasm until we were as excited as each other to dig through the rails of fusty smelling clothes. I have decided that is what it takes to love charity shopping, one good find. And then you can't stop...

So, here are my finds from my most recent charity shopping trip:

01. BROWN CORDUROY DUNGAREE DRESS
To be honest, my Mum actually found this one for me and for that I am very grateful. I have recently been really getting into 70s style (fashion and decor), so this brown corduroy is perfect! And it only cost £1.00!!! Here I have paired it with my sister's (thank you Eve) stripy top from Topshop and I think the colours go so well.

02. PASTEL PURPLE KNITTED CAMI
I have been really wanting to try the cami over a t-shirt look that people revived aaages ago, so this little top will be great for that. It is also my aim to wear more colour, the days of Grace wearing black, black and dark grey are over! This top is actually from French Connection (but I bought it for £1.00!) which will make my best friend happy who insists that I too have a french connection after studying the subject at A-Level...

03. BLACK STRETCHY SHIRT
After saying that I want to wear more colour, here is a black shirt. But to be fair to myself, this is a really versatile top and definitely in the style I aspire to have, and look at those little brown buttons aaaaaw. Plus, it was only £1.00 and I feel like an impractical tennis player in this outfit, so nothing to complain about there.

04. RED GINGHAM COLLARED TOP
So this one is a bit more out of my comfort zone, definitely walking a thin line between primary school teacher and trendy youth. But personally I think its an adorable, unique top. I still haven't decided whether I will wear it though, so if you're interested keep an eye on my Depop (link in sidebar) and it may appear ;)

05. FLORAL LACE CAMI
Same again here, going for that painfully trendy Rachel Green look, but I like it a lot. And the opportunity to mix some patterns here should be fun, a really nice basic top for yes, £1.00.

06. CHECKED HOLLISTER RUFFLE SKIRT
My Mum and I were debating for a while whether to pick this one up, and by debating I mean her telling me its nice and me disagreeing. But after trying it on I can admit without shame that she was right, it is adorable. Although not quite in my style, I really appreciate the mix of colours in the pattern, a great styling challenge for a colour novice like myself. So, if you're interested in this skirt, head on over to my Depop and grab it for yourself.

07. MEN'S PINK SHIRT
I have been wanting to try that look where cool people layer big shirts over their outfits; here is my attempt. I picked up this really pretty pastel pink coloured Timberland (fanshy right) shirt from the men's section for a few pounds and I actually really like it. And I think wearing it with the pink turtleneck brings out the colour and the high-waisted skirt balances out the big size. I can see this becoming a regular thing for me...

There you go, these are my favourite charity shop finds, for now of course. The search never ends!
Thanks for reading <3
